CAR WASH PARTY!

Directions on constructing the car wash here:

After constructing the car wash, I decided it would be a perfect for a summer party day..... I want to share a few of the details that I did to make it fun for the kids....

I love adding creative (and inexpensive) things to make it more personal.

This event was mainly for the boys (we had a SPA day for the girls last week.... SO,  we decided to have them 'working' at the car wash.

The first thing I did was come up with a 'logo'.  A little car design.  I used it on all the signs, money, tshirts and name badges...

I printed out 'money' with the  little car logo for them to collect from their customers... I had the gold coins on hand (purchased at the Dollar Store.    I printed it on 8 1/2 x 11 pale green paper. (I already had it on hand)

I decided to do each kid a shirt with the logo and name on the back...  all 4 boys could wear the same size so I bought a 5 pack of undershirts at Target (around $8). I already had the iron on printer sheets. I was able to get all 4 print outs on 1 page.

I thought little name tags would be a cute touch. I printed them and laminated and hot glued a pin back on them.

(I used markers to color the car)===

I did the car was flags out of left over shower curtain from the construction of the car wash. I cut the triangles out... printed out letters and laminated and then glued everything on the strip at the bottom of the shower curtain that is kind of double stitched.  I already had the chalkboard painted on the fence.... so I used it as our 'price' list. =======

This sign was done for the entrance. I had 3 extra PVC pipes left and put them in the ground... I threaded a few cut pool noodles on a rope and put them sort of for a roped off section... (for no real purpose, other than I thought it looked cool)

Our waiting area sign. I printed letters and glued it to the 'builders paper' that comes on a roll in the paint section of Home Depot. I LOOOOVE this paper and use it for so many things.  I would have written the words but my all of my black markers were out!

I had wash 'tubs' and sponges for each kid and used Johnson & Johnson's baby wash for the suds. I had a bubble machine for... well, because I love bubble machines!!! It was really cute seeing them fly around adding a 'sudsy' feel to the car wash.

And last.... but NOT least... we downloaded the old .. " Car Wash" song.. and blasted it out.

This was so much fun.... I hope you share your experience with us! Enjoy!!!!!!!.
